H.E. Ambassador of Spain to Egypt Ramon Gil Casares expressed appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the Kingdom of Spain and the Egyptian Government on implementing various development programs, especially on developing women skills to be better enabled to participate in development
activities.
“The Agreement that Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) is jointly implementing with MSMEDA marks the beginning of steps of cooperation between Egypt and Spain,” H.E. Casares said on the occasion of attending the wrap-up of the training program organized by MSMEDA. This training program aims at developing women skills in west Aswan village identified under “Decent Life Initiative” and falls under the Project “Contributing to the Creation of Job Opportunities for Women in Upper Egypt.”
Aswan Governor General Ashraf Attya accompanied the Spanish Ambassador in the presence of Head of Office Egypt-AECID Ventura Rodriguez together with MSMEDA Aswan Branch Manager Ibrahim Abdul Latif and MSMEDA Central Sector for Non-Financial Services representative Ahmed El Kanany.
Head of MSMEDA Central Sector for Non-Financial Services Sector Dr. Raafat Abbas said this training program comes within the context of the Agreement’s axes signed between MSMEDA and AECID.
“This Agreement is executed in Aswan, Fayoum, New Vally, Matrouh, North / South Sinai governorates and agrees with the directives of Minister of Trade and Industry and MSMEDA Executive Director Nevine Gamea on expanding in the provision of support to small and micro enterprises engaged in women socio-economic empowerment in rural areas,” Dr. Abbas added.
Dr. Abbas explained MSMEDA delivers numerous technical services through the Mobile Enterprise Development Unit to reach clients in the most needy villages and districts. These services include for example the professional photographing of the products of trainees, mentoring and advising on e-marketing, product pricing, and designing trademarks for promoting products. Dr. Abbas also pointed out to the on-going cooperation between MSMEDA and on-line marketing platforms ( Jumia, Amazon) to assist small entrepreneurs in marketing their products.
